I came across this quote at the back of a Huletts sugar sachet and it inspired me.

It says:

If you wish to move mountains tomorrow, you must start by lifting stones today

~ African proverb

Right?!

Nothing that’s ever worth it is easy. Hard work, determination and prayer is the only combination key to success.

You have to start somewhere and that somewhere generally is at the very beginning; the bottom.

As humans we have a tendency of wanting to skip the hard work and the being patient part and tend to always want instant results. So we become ambitious, take on everything and then crash before not even one of those things we took on are complete or achieved.

This proverb for me highlights the concept that success isn’t overnight and that it takes hard work and determination to reach your end goal. It highlights that there are no easy ways or overnight shenanigans when it comes to success.

So if you’re not where you need to be, do what you can today, tomorrow and even the day after that and trust and believe that one day, your mountain ⛰ (goal) will be moved (achieved).

#QOTD #36

One of my friends and I were speaking about quotes yesterday and she reminded me of one that Is so relevant. It’s a quote that would apply to us always, irrespective of what age we are, where we’re living or what job we’re in.

One of my favourite authors once wrote:

Nothing that’s worthwhile, is ever easy.

~ Nicholas Sparks

It really is no wonder why he’s one of my favs❤️

This quote resonates so well with me. The pleasure we feel and the sense of pride we have when we achieve something that we’ve worked so hard for, can never be compared to any other victory that we may have achieved.

I think the most important part of it all is figuring out what is worthwhile and then gearing ourselves to go out and get it.

Whether it is a degree you’re working towards, a career goal you’re trying to achieve, a book you’re trying to complete, a simple weight goal or even a relationship that you’re in.. it’s important to remember, that if it’s worthwhile and if it is the real thing, it definitely is not going to be easy. Nothing that comes easy is ever worthwhile. Remember that. If it seems too good to be true, generally it is.

If it’s worthwhile, You’re gonna be forced out of your comfort zone at times, you’re going to feel like giving up at others, you’re even going to feel like pulling your hair out whilst asking why am I doing this to myself…but it’s at that very point of wanting to give up, that we should persevere. It’s at that very time, that we should take one small step after another, endure patience and just keep swimming as Dori would say!

So let’s keep on that grind because its definitely going to be worthwhile.

Baby steps. Patience and perseverance.

See you all at the finish line 🥇 We got this! 😎 💪🏼

#QOTD #15

I’ve recently been diagnosed with bronchitis ( bleh! ) and have overally been in a very difficult space.

This been regarding my goals and projects that  I’m supposed to have wrapped up but haven’t started yet 🙈 I’m holding on to the last thread of hope.

That been said,  it really isn’t easy to keep looking for the positives when you’re mostly surrounded by everything negative and also when you feel like you’ve been working your behind off but it’s like the odds are against you. It feels  like you’re almost destined to fail. Yeah? I’ve been through this before and feel like I’m back in this space again.

I came across a quote this morning and goodness, doesn’t it make sense?

In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present.

Francis Bacon

This is so true. You can’t shine ever so brightly when everything around you is well lit. ( when all is going right in your life)

The darkness is an opportunity for us to showcase exactly how determined we are. To show exactly how strong we are and our how much capabilities we have.

I skipped a day or two of the #QOTD due to me just not feeling well. But this really uplifted me and is one I will write down and pin to my desk, Making it a constant reminder to keep persevering.

I needed to share it with you!

Happy Thursday everybody, you’re almost there.
