Been having a particularly tough time managing my stresses, especially at work. Generally, positive thinking is what I do, it’s my natural approach to anything I face.

However, of late it’s becoming more and more difficult for me to do. This is a very dangerous space to be in, especially for me because I’ve worked so hard to get out of a verg negative era of my life.

So amongst other things, I’ve been perusing online in hope to come across something that would spark some sought of positivity within…

Bubblegum characters always lighten up my soul

… to shed some light in what seems to be a very dark space, I came across these bubblegum figures and this quote: (God bless the written word and the writers who write them)

” The darkest hour has only 60 minutes “

~ Morris Mandel

Right?!

This quote got me pondering instantly. It reassured me that nothing in this life time is ever permanent and that even dark times have their expiry dates. #aameen

I remember reading that actions derive from thoughts. This stuck with me and will continue to stick with me as I journey through this thing called life.

This is why, when I think about more negative than positive things, I frantically search for something, anything, just to change my thought process.

I think it’s essential that we do this before we get consumed. Seems like this quote and my bubble gang are  my life lines for today, tomorrow shall see for itself.

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss in life is what dies inside us while we live.

~ Norman Cousins

Death. A topic none of us, well atleast many of us don’t like to speak about, even though, to me, it should be discussed a lot more.

With the world we live in, it’s so easy to get consumed and to forget that this life is temporary, it’s just a test. This life was never meant to be permanent.

This quote resonated so well with me because death is something guaranteed, it’s something we should expect right? Therefore, it cannot be the greatest “loss” of life because in many cases when you lose something, it’s unexpected, you have no warning that you’re going to lose it.

The greatest loss is indeed one where we have the capacity to do what we love and what’s required of us but we don’t, for whatever reason that may be. The greatest loss is losing our heart, or our fire; that passion that we was once had. We lose our mark and become a thing just existing day after day.

We lose sight of the career goals we once dreamed of. We lose sight of the essence of family and friends and true relations. We lose the kid in us, we forget how to see fun, colour and happiness in everything that we do. We forget the importance of God and our religious and spiritual obligation, we lose our humanity and moral obligations. We get consumed with things that really don’t matter.

Why? Isn’t that the greatest loss because we have the time, we have the gift of life. We have the opportunity.

It needs to all change.

Let’s use our time on this earth to fulfill all of our religious and spiritual obligations and our hearts desires. So that one day when we pass, we would be remembered for just that.

Life is all about balance, so whilst it’s ok to lose our spark sometime, it’s equally important to reignite that spark again.

Don’t let that die whilst you’re still alive. If anything, help be the match that reignites the spark back in somebody else. Be purposeful.

May we all strive harder to reignite that spark within and to leave our mark on this earth.

This quote is one that I make conscious effort to live by. It’s the one quote I often use when I’m feeling down and even when I’m feeling like I’m ontop of the 🌎.

It actually comes from one of my all time fav fairytales!

And it goes:

Have courage and be kind.

~ Cinderella

How beautiful. Short and sweet!

Being courageous does not mean you have to be mean, disrespectful or proud.

To have courage and also to maintain humility and kindness for me, is something so beautiful and can sometimes be so difficult to get the both right. Hence the beauty.

Once you find the balance, Only then I say, can you shout out loud: MAMA I MADE IT!

Have courage to work through the tough times and lows that life can sometimes throw and then be kind enough to share the little you have, even when being kind seems like the hardest to do. Kind enough even when you have everything that your heart desires.

I simply love it ♥️

Come, Let’s all

” The first reaction to any calamity, should be patience.”

SailingIntoTheStorm

Prophet Muhammed (May peace and blessings be upon him)

I believe that a calamity can be anything difficult that you’re facing; an argument, anger issues, loss of a job or loved one, car accident, health issues etc.

I chose this as the quote of the day because this is something I need to work on, patience. I’ve been getting it right on a few occasions and then the rest, the savage, dramatic coloured in me gets resurrected and well yeah, things don’t end well. So I definitely need to practice this more. I came across this quote and I knew that I needed to share this with you all because I feel it’s something that we all could use or practice more of.

Through the spiritual journey that I am embarking on, I’ve learnt that patience is a virtue indeed. I once read that a moment of patience in a moment of anger can save you a hundred moments of regrets, for a word spoken can never be taken back.

This resonates well with me as I was once extremely tempremental. But, by the almighty’s will and permission, I’m working progress 🙂 and it feels good, you actually feel a sense of power when you can control your emotion towards the difficulty that you may be facing.

So, the next time anything difficult strikes, remember that God is well aware of all that happens and then be patient, he knows what’s best for us.

It’s a tradegy you’re going to face, especially if you love and feel deeply. One that you will be faced quite often.

The sooner you accept it, the easier it becomes to deal.

Isn’t it amazing how you can attempt things with the best intentions but it gets received in a different way? I’ve encountered this so many times and each time, I would have tried to approach it in a different way.

The toughest part though is trying to explain yourself and your intentions and then, folk tending to forget you’re human and you feel too.

My word of advise is: You can try, out of respect, to explain yourself and if it isn’t good enough well then tough. We really are too old to be playing chasing games.

Dont ever apologize for who you are because if they know your heart, they’d know you’d never do things to purposely hurt or upset anybody . As I always say, it’s between you and God. He knows (:.

This can sometimes damper your want and will to love and to allow yourself to feel but don’t let it (: you are born a lover. Embrace it.

With that said, I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday. Keep loving because to love is a beautiful thing.

Society is well known for having double standards. I try to live my life free of these.

Came across this quote and itspeaks to the above sentiment so wonderfully.

‪Don’t see the worst in others & expect them to see the best in you. Dont judge others & expect them to stand by you. Life isn’t like that!

Spiritual Sunday

When ever any calamity strikes, it’s important for us to ponder over why it’s striking and what lessons are meant to be learnt from it.
It’s equally important for us to take a step back and see how we as individuals can better ourselves from it; Making us grow as people and stronger in and more faithful to our deen (faith) Allahuakbar: Allah really is the greatest.

Lessons learnt by an ordinary girl through life’s ordinary hurdles.

May we all strive to be patient when a calamity strikes and be better when we approach them, by the almighty’a grace, aameen
