Capturing warmth

The second task of the basic photography #developingyoureye  blogging course was to capture warmth.

The email explained that this is used by capturing images using natural light which often is referred to as sunlight.

My pot plant (: Pastel, sits by the lounge window to get some sunlight during the day. I captured this in all hope of using sunlight to capture the warmth

Part of the blogging course that I’m doing , takes one through the fundamentals of basic photography.

The first task was to capture an image that looks like home to you.

Lamb trio – radio interview

Many of you who know me, know that I am my baby brother’s biggest fan.

Lotus Fm hosted him on their Food lab show earlier today.

Take a listen below by clicking Here or by clicking on the link below:

He shares his personal, cost efficient recipe of serving lamb three ways. This is using three of the cheapest cuts of lamb and preparing them in three different ways.

He also gives ideas of side dishes that will compliment the lamb, leaving the guests in your home feeling like they’ve eaten a meal at a fine dining restaurant
Hope you guys enjoy 😊

Who am I?

My name is Tasneem Amos and I  am a twenty something year old female from Durban, South Africa.

I am currently a Client Relationship Manager at one of the leading medical insurance groups in South Africa and am a soon-to-be student, hoping to get my BA in communication science.

I enjoy reading, writing, blogging, cooking and baking, listening to music, socializing, public speaking, hanging out with friends and family and trying new things. I’m drawn to anything that allows me to express myself artistically.

I am an aspiring author and blogger, I’ve been blogging for about two years but really only got INTO it recently. I would love to one day do a photography course just for hobby sake.

I was married and now divorced and lost my son at birth four years ago. This actually inspired me to start writing and has helped me in my healing process. I write when I’m sad, angry, happy or even confused.

The  purpose of my blog is to write about things that affect normal folk like myself, whether it’s about  love, life, beauty, music, work etc.

it’s a place where we don’t judge, we own our flaws and do not conform to the sometimes absurd norms of society. We focus on the little things that can make one happy and appreciative.

I would love you to join me on my journey to self discovery through me blogging. I’ve signed up for blogging courses and this piece about myself was the first assignment to put out (:

So welcome, that’s pretty much all to know about me. I’m human, I make mistakes, I cry then laugh. I’m moody, I’m colourful, I’m me (:

a wonderful Wednesday to you all.

Today’s quote is one that makes so much of logical sense, definitely one to widen our perspectives.

Albert Einstein once said:

Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish 🐟 by its ability to climb a tree 🌲 , it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”

Now how absurd would that be: judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree right?
Similarly, we cannot judge people based on what we FEEL or THINK is right.

I can relate to this so much. We could never understand why my baby brother just didn’t do well in school, academically. He would pass subjects like Maths but fail English and Afrikaans. Yet today, he stands as a junior chef that is quickly gaining popularity because of his skill and work ethic in the kitchen.

Who would have thought? We thought he was doomed because he couldn’t do one grade just once, he always repeated and didn’t even complete his matric!

Some people fight different struggles, they have different habitats and background stories. It really isn’t about where they are, but rather, where they are going. Then, we put them in situations that they’re just not cut out for, Whether it’s academically, socially or even professionally. It doesn’t make them any less of a person, it simply means that God created a different path for them, he gave them a different gift to bless the world with, an essential gift just for them.

Let’s remember this whenever we feel we’re about to judge a person’s ability to do something that maybe is just not set out for them.
